I was honoured to participate in BARICON 2026, held at Taj Vivanta, New Delhi, on 26th September 2026. As one of the leading academic gatherings in the field of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, the conference brought together renowned national and international experts for meaningful discussions on innovation, clinical excellence and the future of obesity management.
As a Laparoscopic, Bariatric and Robotic Surgeon, I had the privilege of contributing to the scientific programme through two academic engagements. I participated as a panelist in the session on Troubleshooting in Robotic Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery, where experts discussed practical challenges encountered during robotic bariatric procedures, decision-making strategies and approaches to achieving optimal patient outcomes. The exchange of real-world experiences and insights made the discussion particularly valuable for both practicing surgeons and trainees.
I was also invited as a speaker for the session titled Endoscopic Options in Recurrent Weight Gain Post Sleeve. During my presentation, I shared perspectives on the evolving role of endoscopic interventions in the management of weight regain following sleeve gastrectomy, highlighting how minimally invasive solutions continue to expand treatment possibilities for patients requiring revisional care.
BARICON 2026 served as an excellent platform for academic interaction, knowledge sharing and collaboration among experts committed to advancing the science of metabolic and bariatric surgery. The quality of discussions, scientific content and participation reflected the growing momentum of innovation within the specialty.
I extend my sincere gratitude to Dr. Sandeep Aggarwal and Dr. Richa Jaiswal for their kind invitation and for organising such a well-conducted and enriching conference. Opportunities like these not only foster professional growth but also strengthen our collective commitment to delivering safer, more effective and evidence-based care for patients living with obesity and metabolic disorders.
The experience was both inspiring and rewarding, and I look forward to continuing these academic collaborations that help shape the future of bariatric and robotic surgery.
