Dr. Mahak Bhandari Leads Surgical Innovation at Chirurgia 26

Chirurgia'26 - 33rd ASI Peripheral Meet 2026 witnessed an inspiring participation by Dr. Mahak Bhandari (Advanced Laparoscopic, Bariatric, and Robotic Surgeon). The prestigious conference was held on 21st and 22nd February 2026 at Vijaya International Convention Centre in Thiruvalla. It was organized by the Association of Surgeons of India Kerala Chapter in collaboration with Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Science & Research Centre.

The theme of the conference, “Sharpening Skills, Saving Lives,” emphasized continuous learning and advancements in surgical practices. Dr. Mahak Bhandari was invited as a distinguished speaker and delivered an insightful session titled “Robotics: Not the Future - The Present. Who Should Do It, When & How to Start?” His talk highlighted the growing importance of robotic surgery, practical implementation strategies, and the need for structured training in this evolving field.

Currently serving as Professor in the Department of General Surgery at Sri Aurobindo Medical College & PG Institute, Dr. Mahak Bhandari is widely recognized for his expertise in advanced laparoscopic, bariatric, and robotic surgery. He is also the Managing Director and Pro Chancellor at Sri Aurobindo University, where he actively contributes to surgical education and robotic training initiatives.

In recognition of his valuable contribution, he was awarded a Certificate of Participation along with a special Appreciation Trophy. Expressing his gratitude, he thanked the organising team of ASI Kerala Chapter and Central Travancore Chapter, and especially Dr Robinson George and Dr Manoj Gopal, along with the convenors, for providing him the opportunity to showcase his work. His presence at the event reflected his dedication to innovation, skill enhancement, and strengthening the surgical community across India.
